The origin of the word comes from the combination of two words, one is Tapasya and the other is Vana. Both words denote the spiritual practice in the woods. Settled in the Himalayas region is the Tapovan Ashram established by the Late Swami Chimayananda. The complex of the Ashram comprises of the huge picture of Lord Hanuman, a school, the contemplation hall, health centre and many more.
